The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, approved the appointment of Dr. Aliyu Dalha Kankia as Registrar and Yahaya Hussaini as Bursar.
The approval was given at its 218th Special Meeting held at the Council Chamber, Senate Building. The appointments take effect from October 4, 2026.
Kankia will succeed Rabiu Samaila. He joined the University in 1990 and rose to Deputy Registrar. He holds a BSc and PhD in Political Science from ABU and an MSc in International Politics from the University of London.
Hussaini will replace Mohammed Bello Aminu Gurin. He has 31 years experience in the Bursary Department with expertise in financial management, treasury operations and budgeting.
Chairman of Council, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, has congratulated the appointees.
