The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Students’ Representative Council has taken a bold step against the incessant attacks and robbery of students staying of campus
Having received various complaints on the various robberies and provocative attacks by thugs and other insecurity related issues affecting the students of the institution staying off campus, the students’ representative under the leadership of Comrade Idris Kawuje has taken a swift action by engaging security stakeholders and other community leaders within Samaru in a bid to tackle and find lasting solution to the problem.
This was made known through a tweet authorized by the ABUSRC General Secretary for the President where it was stated that the meeting which lasted for some hours yielded a positive report as the security personnel and other stakeholders involved promised to do all it takes to ensure the safety of the lives and properties of Abusites.
The meeting with the stakeholders had in attendance, the ABU Chief Security Officer, Councilors of Samaru and Bomo Village, JTF Chairman, the District head of Samaru alongside the executives of the ABUSRC.
Meanwhile, a committee mandated to foresee issues ascribed to insecurity has been set up and charged with the responsibility to enforce the rules and regulation in ensuring the safety of the entire Abusites.
