ABU Signs Cooperation Agreement with Russian University

Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, aimed at fostering collaboration in science and education.

The agreement was formalized during a courtesy visit by Dr. Mustapha Jamiu, a representative of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, and a delegation from ABU's Department of Mass Communication led by its Head, Dr. Adama Adamu, to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kabir Bala, in his office.

Dr. Adamu highlighted that the collaboration recognizes universities' pivotal role in promoting international partnerships, equality, and contributions to societal development. She noted that the agreement will encompass all faculties, institutes, academic departments, libraries, and administrative units of both institutions, thereby enhancing their shared resources.

The cooperation agreement will facilitate joint research projects, educational initiatives, and the exchange of students and staff for vocational training. The coordination of the agreement will be overseen by Dr. Adama Adamu on behalf of Ahmadu Bello University, and Maria Kirka, Director of International Cooperation, on behalf of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. The agreement is set to last for an initial period of five years, with the possibility of renewal.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Professor Kabir Bala, commended the delegation for their visit and encouraged both institutions to develop additional collaborative ideas.
