As part of the ABU-RISE Initiative’s mission, the Ahmadu Bello University Counseling and Human Development Center, through its Career Service Unit, is training students on career development and job creation.
The workshop, themed “Linkages and Job Creation for Students,” is currently holding at the Postgraduate College Auditorium, Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru Main Campus.
Several distinguished personalities are at the event. These include the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adamu Ahmed, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Raymond Bako; the Dean, Students Affairs Division, Professor Sahalu Junaidu; the Director, Counseling and Human Development Center, Professor Hadiza Ahmed Tukur; and students, among other participants.
The workshop continues with goodwill messages and remarks from top university officials. The messages show the institution’s commitment to preparing students for the changing job market.

Dr. Sa’adatu Makarfi was the first facilitator. She presented on “Career Readiness and Employability Skills.” In her session, she trained students on key employability skills like writing effective CVs, handling job interviews, and improving communication.
After her, Dr. Y. F. Zakariyya presented on “Emerging Technology and Career Pathways: Equipping ABU Students for the Jobs of Tomorrow.” He urged students to embrace emerging technologies and make the most of the opportunities they bring.
“Those of you who use Artificial Intelligence will replace those who do not use Artificial Intelligence,” he said.
