Students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ahmadu Bello University, on Thursday, 23 July 2026 took to Samaru Campus for the 2nd edition of the Agric Day Parade organized by the Nigerian Association of Agricultural Students, NAAS, ABU Chapter.
The procession, held under the theme “MEET THE NATION FEEDERS” and sub-theme “Agric for Sustainability,” comprised students from all 10 departments in the faculty. The departments as listed on the banner include Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Crop Science, Crop Protection, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Forestry and Wildlife, Soil Science, and Plant Science.

During the parade, some students trekked through the campus while others were driven on a tractor. A number of participants displayed live goats, different leaves and crops, and carried placards with messages promoting food security and sustainable agriculture.

The banner for the event, tagged “Agric Day Parade 2026,” was held aloft by students as they moved round Samaru Campus. Officials of NAAS said the annual parade is designed to create awareness on the importance of agriculture, promote unity among students of the faculty, and project agricultural students as critical stakeholders in national development.

The parade kicked off other activities planned for the 2026 Agric Day celebrations.
