Music legend Céline Dion surprised fans on Wednesday with an impromptu street singalong outside her hotel in Paris, days before launching her first full concert series in six years.
The 58-year-old singer stopped to perform her 1995 hit "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" with hundreds of fans who had gathered outside Hotel Le Royal Monceau. Videos of Dion singing and dancing with the crowd quickly went viral on social media.
The moment comes ahead of Dion’s sold-out 26-show residency in Paris. It heralds her return to live touring after stepping away in 2020 due to Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition.
For students and music lovers in Nigeria following the comeback online, the Paris buzz has been impossible to miss. The city is covered in billboards with Dion’s lyrics, and fans worldwide have organized karaoke events to celebrate.
Dion’s residency begins tonight, September 12, 2026, at Plénitude Arena in Paris. All 26 shows are sold out, with the final date scheduled for May 2027.
