BY HASSAN B.BERENDE AND ABDULAZEEZ SULEIMANThe Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Zaria Chapter inaugurates new executive members for the association.The inauguration took place yesterday at the Assembly Hall of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, where the society also had a Public lecture and Investiture tagged “Nigerian Politics: The Role of Indigenous Engineers”.Engr. Dr. Abdulfatai Adinoyi Murana who emerged as the Chairman of the Zaria Chapter’s Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), was sworn in along other new executives.Speaking during the inauguration, The National President of the NSE ably represented by Prof. Engr. S.O. Hanafi commended the outgoing chairman Engr. Atiku Bello for his hard work and dedication to the association.Meanwhile, the Public Lecture delivered by Engr. M. I. Usman, The chairman of Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna state, who after thanking the institution for being a strong cause to all his achievements made an auspiciously call to the Engineers in the country to actively participate in politics. He said their active participation will help to protect the interest of their own, the people and of the profession,Quoting him directly, he said "If you stay back and you don't join politics to protect your interest, nobody will go and protect your interest for you”Meanwhile among other prominent personalities at this auspicious occasion included: The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, ABU Zaria; Prof. I.A. Muhammad Dabo who was the Guest of Honour and also the representative of the Vice chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala as the chief host of the event.

Hmm! What a great admonition from him though but not all can join politics as we all have individual differences as well as perception.
