The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, has approved the appointment of two lecturers from the Department of Mass Communication into administrative positions in the institution.
Prof. Kabir Bala, approved the appointment of Dr. Shamsuddeen Mohammed as the Dean of Social Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, with Dr. Suleiman Hashim Muhammad as the Deputy Dean, Students Affairs Division.
Their appointment which took effect from 30th December, 2022, is for a period of two years.
Dr. Shamsudeen is the incumbent Head of Department of the Department of Mass Communication, Ahmadu Bello University, and has been the acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences before the vice chancellor's approval.
Dr Hashim Muhammed on the other hand is the Staff Adviser to the Mass Communication Student Association.
Their appointments, according to the Vice-Chancellor, were in recognition of their administrative and academic leadership qualities, and in the hope that they would bring their worthy experiences to bear in the service of the University.
