Ahmadu Bello University Campus Press is set to host a highly anticipated debate for the presidential aspirants of the National Association of Social Science Students (NASSS) today, on August 14, 2023. The debate will take place at the Social Science Multipurpose Hall (MPH) and is scheduled to commence at 4:00 pm. The primary objective of this event is to evaluate and present the potential of the aspirants, while providing a platform for students to independently assess and choose the candidates they wish to vote for based on their manifestos.
The two aspirants, Comrade Umar J. Umar (JAGABAN), a 300-level student of Political and Administration Science, and Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu Ibrahim, a 300-level student of Mass Communication, expressed their enthusiasm for the debate during a previous interview. They view this event as an opportunity to effectively communicate their ideas and qualifications to the student body.
Supporters of both candidates have expressed their optimism, believing that their preferred candidate will perform exceptionally well and ultimately emerge as the winner. The program will also feature a short poetic drama and an interactive session where the audience can pose questions to the aspirants.
