ABU Governing Council Appoints Prof. Adamu Ahmed as new Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria has appointed Prof. Adamu Ahmed as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor. The announcement was made today, Wednesday, 5th February 2025, during the 209th (Special) Council meeting presided over by Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR.

Prof. Adamu Ahmed, a professor in the department of urban and Regional planning once served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement at ABU Zaria. 

Prior to his appointment as the new Vice chancellor of ABU, he is the outgoing Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.

His appointment marks a significant leadership transition for Ahmadu Bello University.
