A fire erupted at Danfodio Hall, Extension 3, Room 63, at around 6:30pm, on 17th of March, 2025. The fire was reported to have been caused by a gas cylinder explosion.
Though no casualties were reported, as the occupants were able to evacuate safely just before the fire intensified, so no injuries were sustained.
Reports also confirm that the blaze did cause great damage to the belongings of the room occupants, as well as nearby rooms.
The explosion and fire incident have left students in the affected area shaken, though witnesses express relief that no lives were lost. However, one can’t imagine the emotional toll on those that lost their personal belongings and study materials.
Further details are expected to be released after a full assessment of the situation, but while we wait, we hope and pray that those affected recover from this unfortunate incident.
