The Senate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has approved the introduction of two new undergraduate programmes in the Department of Mass Communication.
"This is another feather added to the Department and we thank Almighty Allah for it. Gearing up for the next steps by God's grace," she stated.
The addition of BSc Broadcasting and BSc Strategic Communication is expected to expand academic options for students and strengthen the department’s capacity to meet evolving demands in the media and communication industry.
With this approval, the Department of Mass Communication at ABU Zaria continues to position itself as one of the leading centers for media education in Nigeria.
The announcement was made today, July 30th 2026, by Dr. Adama Adamu, Head of the Department of Mass Communication, ABU Zaria.
According to the statement, the newly approved programmes are:
- BSc Broadcasting
- BSc Strategic Communication
