The government has allocated Tk 1.75 crore in cash and 3,250 metric tonnes of rice for the seven flood-affected districts. An additional Tk 4.60 crore and 8,950 tonnes of rice have been earmarked for humanitarian assistance across all 64 districts since July 7.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday directed all government agencies to remain on maximum alert and ensure rapid distribution of relief supplies including dry food, safe drinking water, baby food and medicines. Army and navy personnel are ferrying supplies by boat to isolated communities.

The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions in the next 24 to 48 hours, which could further worsen river levels.

Local residents reported difficulties accessing food and clean water. "There is still water inside our home and we have no way to cook," said Nurul Islam, a resident of a flood-hit area in Chattogram.
