AFTER 70 YEARS, ABU STUDENT ASSOCIATION INITIATES CRUCIAL INTERVENTION

The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter of Nigerian Tulip International College, Yobe Ex-student association initiates a crucial intervention program at the Shehu Mu'azu Almajiri School in Tudun Wada, Zaria, Kaduna state.

The intervention program took the form of an outreach to the school whereby items like Clothing, Soaps, Detergents, and Shoes were donated to over 70 Almajiris to help them curtail the Challenges of the harsh weather and life generally

Speaking at the program, the President of the association, Haruna Suleiman Saleh commended the teachers in the effort they put in the education and moral bringing of the students as well as admonished the students to demonstrate the essence of the education they are acquiring.

“I want to commend the effort of all the school teachers for your tremendous effort in the education and moral upbringing of the students. To the students, it is not easy but you will have to demonstrate what this education you are acquiring means to you”, Suleiman said.

He however called on the attention of parents, the government, and the society to be supportive and as well show sympathy towards the Almajiris as doing so will help solve the issue of irregularities havocking the educational system.

Meanwhile, the Almajiris and their teachers showed great appreciation and happiness over the effort of the student union. Pointing out the problem of lack of government intervention, a teacher referred to as Mallam Atiku stated that it is the first time a non-governmental association reached out to them since the establishment of the school which is over 70 years ago.
